Core Museum Experience

Jewish History Museum, Tucson

Goal | Chronicle the history of immigrants, migrants and Native Americans through the lens of one of the first Jewish communities west of Texas in the first building it created for itself.

As part of the Tucson's Jewish History Museum's expansion, I was invited to curate and oversee the design of the core experience in its historic building -- the first synagogue built in the Arizona Territory. I coordinated graphic design, case fabrication and all content development. The presentation offers a survey of 200 years of Jewish history in southern Arizona through original artifacts and media, built around the museum's 2,000 square foot programming space. The exhibition was conceived and designed to facilitate ongoing changes over time. I also provided guidance for the institution's future growth with respect to collections and programming.
